In Rajasthan and Gujarat, the Lehenga Choli or the Ghagra choli is the traditional outfit. The cholis come in rich embroideries; it is waist–length and is backless. In the Indian aspect, Ghagra Cholis have skirts that are ankle length, (with odhni or dupatta) that is draped over the neck or the head. It is the latest fashion fad that the young generation too is seen wearing different modern variations of the traditional Ghaghra choli. The modernized Ghagra Choli can even comprise of four pieces: the skirt, the choli, a long scarf over the shoulders or head, and a long sleeveless ‘jacket’ outlining the attire. Sometimes the choli is decoratively laced in the front and back. The Indian Lehenga - choli or Ghagra choli is usually worn with the ‘dupatta’. Otherwise termed as Lehenga Chunni or Lehenga chunri, chunari, chunaris or Ghagra choli, this traditional yet modern outfit suits the dressing needs of mostly the entire women fraternity.

This dress is related to festivity because its history shows that it was supposed to be a royal dress worn by the wives and daughters of Mughal emperors. Therefore, many brides like to choose this attire for their big day because they want to feel and look special just like a royal princess. The bridal lehenga choli like any other lehenga consist of three parts the pleated skirt called the lehenga, a fitted choli or blouse and a dupatta.
